1 kg of herring (6-12 depends on the size)

250-400 ml of oil (depends on a size of a bowl)

about 1 liter of milk or water to soak the herring

2 apples

4 medium onions

6 medium pickled cucumbers

4 tablespoons to chopped dil

l2 tablespoon of sugar or honey

4 large cloves of garlic

1 teaspoon of rosemary

½ cup of raisins

2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

marjoram and thyme – 2 heaped teaspoon each
